How can I give financially to the work at St Mary’s?
At St Mary’s we believe that every good thing comes from God. In response to God’s generous goodness to us we are called to serve him with our whole lives, and that includes our money. The bible teaches that one of the ways we grow as disciples of Jesus is through regular giving to others including the church. So part of following Jesus and worshipping God is giving our money from all we have received from Him. Giving also releases the resources of God’s people so that together we can make a difference to our local community and through our giving as a church outside the parish. In effect our giving enables us to deliver the church vision following Jesus and making Him known through our support of our staff team, upkeep of the building and support of the Diocese of Bristol through our parish share.
Our parish share enables the Diocese to provide vicars and other ordained and licensed ministers in Stoke Bishop and all across each area of Bristol, Swindon and everything in between.
You can give a one off gift to St Mary’s direct to our bank account (Sort Code 60-23-23, Account Number 92604889). However, you may prefer to give a regular gift.
How do I make a regular gift?
There are a number of different ways you can make your gift to St Mary’s, so feel free to choose the one which works best for you.
By Standing Order – you will need to set up a standing order yourself via your bank account, either through internet banking, by visiting a branch, or by using a paper Standing Order form which is available here (link). Our bank account details are available here (link). If you are a taxpayer and you haven’t yet completed a Gift Aid declaration for Christ Church please complete the form, which is available here (link), and return it to us.
By Weekly Envelopes - we will provide you with a set of 52 dated weekly envelopes for cash or cheques which you can bring along to church on a Sunday. As these are numbered you can still use them with the Gift Aid scheme, saving you the need to complete a Gift Aid envelope each week.
